Study Week 2020 - COVID-19 Cancellation - FAQ
Is Study Week 2020 going to be postponed?
The Study Week 2020 committee has spent several months weighing up the possibility of postponing Study Week 2020 to a later date, unfortunately this is not possible and therefore Study Week 2020 has been cancelled.
Will I get a full refund?
Yes, for those who have paid the full amount, your booking fee will be refunded minus the deposit and any PayPal fees. To obtain your refund you will need to complete the refund form. If you have completed this form, your reimbursement will be processed between 6 - 13 June 2020.
Will I get my deposit back?
As there have been a range of things the committee were required to pay for it is not possible for us to provide a full refund of the deposit. We have estimated that there is $6 of your deposit remaining.
We encourage you to donate the remaining amount of your deposit to one of the Christadelphian foundations below, which you can nominate by completing the refund form. Please take time to visit each website and see the great work they are doing in each community.
Philippines Youth Conference & Vanuatu - https://acbm.org.au/
Agape in Action - https://www.agapeinaction.com/
Alternatively, should you want this amount to be refunded to your account please let us know by completing the refund form. If you do not provide a preference we will split up the remaining amount between the above foundations.
Will the workshops continue?
The Study Week 2020 workshops will continue in NSW as planned and we have now extended this invitation to all states. As such the interstate workshops have been cancelled.

What about the topic David and the Study Notes?
The Study Week Notes are an amazing resource that we would encourage you to continue to fill out until they are complete. Once complete they can take pride and place in your study and be a valuable reference resource for the future.
Is something going to happen during the Study Week 2020 period or nothing at all?
Whilst Study Week 2020 has been cancelled, the committee are planning to hold a virtual event during the week 4 - 12 July 2020. Details regarding this event will be sent out in the coming weeks via email. It is definitely a shame that we cannot meet together physically, however this will be a great way to get a small taste of a Study Week in 2020. This is a great reason to continue completing your Study Week Notes.
Is this the end for Study Week 2020?
Unfortunately, yes. God Willing, Study Week 2022 will be held from 9 - 17 July 2022. Stay up to date by following our Instagram account with booking details to be released later in 2021.
Can I stay booked in for the next Study Week?
Unfortunately this will not be possible, therefore your booking will be refunded and you will need to complete a new booking form for Study Week 2022.
What about my flights?
Whilst most airlines should be able to provide credits against your booked flights, you may have issues obtaining a refund. If you require a formal letter of proof to show the cancellation of Study Week 2020 due to Covid-19, please send us an email at bookings@studyweek.net.

The week is organised by a committee of young people from various Sydney ecclesias. Study Week 2020 is sponsored by Punchbowl Ecclesia.
What are the age requirements to come to Study Week 2020?
You must be at least 16 years old by the time Study Week commences. The age limit is approximately 35.
Can I pay when I arrive?
This being the electronic age we need everyone to pay in full at least one month in advance (1st June), so we know you are definitely coming and we have time to contact those on the waiting list if you aren't.
How much does it cost?
Take a look at our information page for details about cost. Please note the full rate applies after 11:59pm AEDT 29 February 2020.

No. You can follow the directions provided on the paypal page to pay with a credit or debit card.

Can I get an extension on the discounted rate?
Unfortunately, to be fair to everyone we can't extend the discounted rate past 11:59pm AEDT 29 February 2020.
I can't work out how to pay?
You should have received an email with instructions on how to pay. If you can't find the email, check your junk mail folder or send us an email at bookings@studyweek.net and we'll resend it.
How many people can come to Study Week 2020?
Bookings are limited to 350 young people. The number is limited due to the capacity of the auditorium. A waiting list will begin once we receive 350 bookings.
When should I plan to arrive?
To help you plan your travel details, we've set up a Travel page, which will be updated with more information as we get closer to the week.
Is it okay if I get to Study Week late or leave early?
Study Week is designed so that the most benefit is gained by being there for the whole time. Please only book in if you can be there for the entire duration of the week.
I am thinking of booking in or I am on the waiting list - will I get in?
Based on past Study Weeks, there can be anywhere between 70 - 100 cancellations, so don't be discouraged :) (You will be able to get a refund for any amount paid over the deposit if you don't get in).
Why do I have to provide my Medicare details on the booking form?
If you need to go to a doctor or hospital during the week, we may need your Medicare details to ensure you can be treated as quickly as possible. Past experience has shown that it can be difficult to contact parents to get this information when it is needed.
I'm Australian, but don't have a Medicare number. What should I do?
Ask your mum. Mum's are good for things like that.
I am from overseas, I don't have a Medicare number. What should I do?
Medicare is only for Australian residents. You will need to pay for any medical expenses you incur while traveling in Australia. It is recommended that you have travel insurance to cover any large medical expenses, such as incidents requiring hospitalisation.
I haven't received my study notes in the mail?
We post study notes to the address you nominated on your booking form. If you left this blank we won't have sent them, or if put in an address you're no longer living at, there's a good chance they've gone there.
Last time I didn't find out my team colour when everyone else did. Why not?
We let people know by email close to the week (for those that supplied an email address on their booking form). If you've changed email address, it probably went to your old account. There's a chance it's gone to your Spam or Junk folder, check there (consider adding the @studyweek.net domain to your safe senders list). If you didn't supply an email address, we will either SMS it to you (if you supplied a mobile number) or you will need to wait to get a letter in the post (this could take a while, we have a lot of stamps to lick).
Can I bring my children?
Study week is not designed to cater to young children. However, we recognise that it can be difficult to organise alternative care arrangements for dependant children, so we permit a maximum of one dependant child up to the age of two years old (as at the commencement of Study Week). If you have more than one dependant child, you may wish to consider Family Week instead, since that is designed to cater to young families.
